GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 337354
Unexpected behavior when opening folder being renamed
Last modified: 2016-09-06 21:10:55 UTC
Please describe the problem: Folder is not renamed when it is double clicked before name is saved. Steps to reproduce: 1. Open Nautilus and navigate to your home folder in icon view. 2. Create a new folder, then type a new folder name (don't press Enter) 3. double click the folder Actual results: When Nautilus opens the folder, it is still referred to as "untitled folder" even though it has been renamed. (You can confirm the rename, by pressing the Up arrow to return to the previous folder.) Expected results: The folder should be renamed Does this happen every time? yes Other information:
I can't reproduct this with 2.14.1, it seems fixed.
I still see this with 2.14.1 on Dapper Drake. There is also a bug in ubuntu bug tracker https://launchpad.net/products/nautilus/+bug/51124
happening with GNOME 2.15.90 too
Confirming, happens also with 2.21.1.
is that really a bug? you didn't confirm the renaming so the directory has not been renamed yet. what else behaviour would you expect?
Ping - what is the wanted behavior from this?
I'd rather auto-confirm the rename in that case, as double-click has the same meaning of enter in many contexts.
Still in 3.1.4.
