Description Roman Bertle 2006-04-05 10:18:00 UTC
Please describe the problem:
In the "Edit Bill" window, in the account register, "Expense account" cannot be
filled. Using the pop-down menu, the menu appears, but the entries are blank.
Auto-expanding if you fill out using the keyboard works, but the input is not
accepted. Workaround: Create a second (empty) transaction line, afterwards the
first line can be edited and works without problem

Steps to reproduce:
1. Create new bill
2. Try to fill out a line in the "Edit Bill" window
3. Push the pull-down menu in "Expense account", or try to fill it out with the
keyboard.

Actual results:
-A empty menu pulls down (its big, but all entries are blank).
-Type ahead works, but the input is not accepted.

Expected results:
It should work just as in a normal acount register

Does this happen every time?
Yes

I cannot reproduce this on my current SVN system.

I followed your instructions and it worked just fine. I pulled down the "expense account" pulldown, selected one of the accounts, and moved on. This is with r13734.

So... I need much more information from you so I can reproduce this here. Otherwise I'm afraid I'm going to have to close this as Invalid, because it works for me.

@Roman: Which language do you use gnucash in? LANG=de_AT, I guess. Does the problem still occur if you use english gnucash by calling "LANG=C gnucash" on the command line? If yes, do you think you could create a sample data file that shows this behaviour, and add it to this bugreport as "attachment"? Thanks.

Comment 4 Roman Bertle 2006-04-06 13:15:42 UTC
Hello, i created a testfile which is attached. I use LANG=C. The version of gnucash is 13672. Starting with the attached testfile, I do the following steps:
1. Business->Vendor->New Bill
2. Search for Vendor "ACME", select him.
3. The "Edit Bill" tab pops up.
4. Hit tab, "ducks" into field "Description"
5. Hit tab until I get to "Expense Account"
6. Click on the small square for the pull-down menu
7. A Big White Rectangle is pulled down, but its empty and all white.
