Description Sebastien Bacher 2006-04-03 16:44:45 UTC
That bug has been opened on https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/rhythmbox/+bug/37668

"Because the artist names pulled from freecddb (or musicbrainz) don't always match with the ones used by last.fm, the "get information on this artist/album from the web" support often results in a 404.

It might be better to link to their search page instead, at least until they complete their integration with musicbrainz as a backend (at which point we should have a canonical way to describe most albums).

Example:
* Rhythmbox reads "Coheed & Cambria".
* This links to http://last.fm/music/Coheed%20%26%20Cambria (404)
* The real link is http://last.fm/music/Coheed+and+Cambria
* It is pretty forgiving, so http://last.fm/music/Coheed%20and%20Cambria also works, although avoiding the need for escaping results in a nicer looking URL."

Last.fm links have been removed in CVS. They may be included an artist/album plugin designed to provide links to different sites and other statistics, see bug #331250.
