Description Vidar Braut Haarr 2006-04-03 11:09:19 UTC
When I first boot the computer, the icons in the Applications/Places/System (running Ubuntu Dapper) menus have not loaded.

I have positioned 2 panels on the bottom of the screen - the lower one with a window list and workspace switcher and the top one with the menu bar and system tray, roughly.

The first time I open a menu, for a split second no icons are shown, and since they are not, the menu is packed or compressed so it's not as tall as it needs to be to fit all the icons. Then the icons are loaded and the menu expands so that all icons fit. The result is that the lower item in each menu perfectly covers the panel.

The solution here would be to expand upwards, I guess.

I'll try to provide a screenshot in a minute.

I'm not sure how to reproduce it without turning the computer off and on, so I'll have to get a screenshot later.

System/Desktop menu pops over the actual menu button

This is a screenshot of what it looks like after the icons have loaded. The menu is pushed downwards and is now covering the "System"/"Desktop" menu button entirely.
