GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 336740
contacts are not found with "search by name" if adding them from the mail view
Last modified: 2006-04-03 22:20:08 UTC
Please describe the problem: After adding a new contact from the mail view (via context menu "Add to addressbook") this contact does not appear when I go to my address book and list all contacts with "Name begins with". Neither is it found by the address completion feature in the mail composer nor in the address selector of the mail composer. It is found by "Any field contains" and also correctly appears in the full list. Steps to reproduce: 1. look at an email with a new email address 2. use context menu "Add to Address Book", insert into local address book with full name 3. go to that address book 4. select "Name begins with" as filter, type name Actual results: The contact is not listed. Expected results: It should be listed because it exists and starts with the entered name. Does this happen every time? Yes. Other information: 5. "Any field contains" finds the contact when entering the name. 6. Cut and immediately paste the contact -> now it is found by "Name starts with" as it should
I have compiled Evolution with Garnome 2.14.0.
patrick, thanks for reporting. i'm marking this as a duplicate of bug 337087 because bug 337087 is more precise and covers also some other testcases. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 337087 ***
