Description Martin Jürgens 2006-03-28 19:53:56 UTC
In the GNOME CD/Dvd creator there is a blue bar which has a button to burn the
cd after moving files to the window.

Something similar would be great when opening a storage device with nautilus: A
bar which says that the data has to be written on the device and that you have
to click unmount for that. An unmount button should be on the bar, too.

Other information:
Gnome needs better support for removal devices. A good step is the patch
provided in #313639. I know a lot people who tried to copy files on an usb stick
and were confused that the data was not on the stick, me including.

I'm sorry, but how is this different than the bug you mentioned, bug 313639?
Comment 2 Martin Jürgens 2006-03-28 20:44:29 UTC
No Problem :-)

Bug 313639 integrates a progress bar while unmounting the device.

This bug is a feature request for a bar inside the Nautilus window ( I will attach a mockup ) that tells the user that he has to unmount the storage device to save the data on it.

I see! I like that idea! Will add a note about this in the other bug, to get some attention and feedback.
