There was a discussion on the mailing list about avoiding abbreviations (namely  Xtns) and also while looking at the Gimpshop web pages I noticed how the changed some of the tools labels, one in particular caught my attention they changed "Rect" to  and how they used full words whereas the GIMP used abbreviations

I'm not entirely sure what the best unabbreviated wording should be though.  "Rectangular Select" I suppose.

I've changed those labels but went for "Rectangle Select" to be consistent with "Ellipse Select".
