Description Christopher Hammond 2006-03-21 12:27:48 UTC
Please describe the problem:
If a selection from an Excel spreadsheet is copied and pasted into Gnumeric, the
entire worksheet is pasted but all cells are blank except those selected in
Excel. One is unable to paste cell values either; cells formulas are pasted and
'paste special' is greyed out.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Highlight something in Excel
2. Copy to clipboard
3. Paste into gnumeric

Actual results:
A whole range of blank cells that were not selected in Excel are pasted into
Gnumeric.

Expected results:
I would expect only the selected cells to be pasted and to be allowed the option
to paste the cell values instead of the formulas

Does this happen every time?
Yes

Other information:
It's obviously not too serious a problem as the excel files open acceptably in
Gnumeric anyway.

I think this is the same problem described in Bug 381732. There's some debug data in that report, so it'd probably be best to mark this one as a duplicate.

Agreed.
