GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 335050
Selection problems with Wacom Intuos3 mouse
Last modified: 2008-01-15 13:06:15 UTC
I have recently purchased a Wacom Intuos3 (A6) tablet which comes with a mouse for normal daily use (as well as the pen for graphics work). While the Wacom mouse works perfectly within GIMP for selecting items from the drop down menus or dialogs when use the selection tool on an image the behaviour is erratic. Typically the selection does not centre on the mouse pointer, on depressing the left mouse button and dragging the toolbar prints that a selection is being made and the size of the selection in pixels but no rectangle appears on the image and on releasing the LMB no 'marching ants' marquee appears. Ocasionally a random rectangle will be 'drawn' on the image but this does not bear any resemblance to the position of the mouse and does not become selected/active. Changing the parameters of the extended input devices of the Wacom 'puck' from screen to window seems to alter the behaviour but does not improve it. Can you tell me whether this is something I've failed to setup or whether GIMP 2.2.10 does not function correctly with my tablet. Thank you. Alex
Is the Wacom "mouse" in relative mode (mouse mode)? If so it won't work correctly with GIMP. Try changing to absolute mode (pen mode) in the Wacom control panel application. That is a known limitation in GTK+ for Windows, see bug #154657.
Setting to NEEDINFO because we are waiting for the bug reporter to answer Roberts question.
Alex, we're waiting for your feedback.
(In reply to comment #3) > Alex, we're waiting for your feedback. Sorry, there, once I heard it was a known issue I dropped the matter. Thank you for your time, I'd like to close this bug. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 154657 ***
