In my Rhythmbox 0.9.3.1, the Shuffle button looks quite unlike the other buttons. Its pictogram is fuzzy as if it's enlarged from a smaller picture, and it is larger than the other buttons in the row.
I realise this may be a theme icons vs application icons issue, but at least it might look a bit more crisp.
I'll try to cut and attach a screenshot.

Indeed it does.  This is because the 24x24 icon has a different name to the 16x16 icon, and the name of the 16x16 icon is the one we use.  This has been fixed in gnome-icon-theme.
