Description John Thacker 2006-03-08 04:18:15 UTC
Please describe the problem:
Any ogg file I have with an ampersand (&) in either the Track Name or Artist
Name breaks the notification bubbles. The Track Name and Artist Name are
displayed as completely blank. The icon still appears, though. The mouseover
tooltip displays fine, as does everything within rhythmbox. This might be a
libnotify bug (using version 0.3.0), or just something not escaping out
ampersands properly.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Load a file with an ampersand (&) in the Track Name or Artist Name
2. Minimize rhythmbox so that the Notification Bubbles appear
3. Start playing the file.

Actual results:
Notification Bubble pops up with a totally blank area where the track and artist
name should be. The word "by" is even missing. "Now Playing" and the icon
still appear, though.

Expected results:
The notification bubble should contain "Track Name by Artist Name"

Does this happen every time?
Yes, every time a track with an ampersand in either the track or artist name is
played.

Other information:
I have a decent number of multiple artist tracks, and MusicBrainz tagged files
(thanks to sound-juicer). MusicBrainz standards have ampersands in multiple
artist tracks.
