Description Christian Lohmaier 2006-02-28 21:47:27 UTC
Please allow to specify a standard URL that is launched when clicking the label
of a smart-bookmark (as opposed to use the smart-bookmar's text-entry) on a toolbar.

The "top-url" that is used currently often is not the page one wants to visit
when not using the smart-URL. E.g. a Bug-Tracking smb could allow to enter the
bug-id in the text-entry but go to the query page instead of the main-page when
clicking the label.

PS:
Galeon has that feature.

Really so poor interest in improving epiphany?
Comment 2 Alexander “weej” Jones 2006-12-26 01:30:47 UTC
Reassigning: This isn't in "Smart Bookmarks" - that extension is for adding support for looking up selected text with a smart bookmark. This functionality is core to Epiphany.

What could be done here is to explicitly add a new class of Bookmark. Currently smart bookmarks are identified by the presence of %s in the URI string.

Not sure whether this is a Lovebug, after all. Can anyone else offer an opinion?

Thanks for the bug report, Christian, it's a good feature that will be useful.
Comment 3 Reinout van Schouwen 2007-05-31 22:59:07 UTC
Marking as enhancement. I'm not sure it's worth adding a UI for a second URL entry though.
Comment 4 Michael Catanzaro 2016-09-28 16:26:58 UTC
I guess this is obsolete?
Comment 5 Christian Lohmaier 2016-09-29 07:55:38 UTC
and "don't care anymore" - I turned my back on epiphany years ago after it reinvented the wheel and removed the features that were actually useful to me.
