Last modified: 2006-07-26 16:02:23 UTC
Please describe the problem: gnome's application main menu sometimes hides part of menu for no apparent reason. Steps to reproduce: 1. just scroll within the menu. maybe you should put your menu on the bottom, because that is where i use it. Actual results: Expected results: Does this happen every time? it happens totally random. Other information: screenshot will be added.
Created attachment 60336 [details] screenshot This becomes extremely annoying if you see it happening ten times a day.
If anything, thats a panel bug
I can report that this bug is still present under gnome version 2.14.0 (Ubuntu Dapper Drake Flight 6 distribution). It seems to me that this bug occurs when there is some delay between drawing the menu and displaying the menu icons. That is, here is what appears to me to be happening: * user clicks on menu * menu is displayed without icons * icons are loaded and displayed * menu height does not change, even though the icons should have caused the menu to increase vertically in size * the menu becomes scrollable rather than resize I also run my panel at the bottom of the screen. I do not believe this bug occurs when the panel is at the top of the screen.
Thanks for the bug report. This particular bug has already been reported into our bug tracking system, but please feel free to report any further bugs you find. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 331780 ***
Created attachment 69673 [details] description of similar error on gaim
i don't know if that is really a gtk bug, because gaim (the new beta) does EXACTLY the same when you click on your status combobutton (hope that was a proper word). see the screenshot.
