Description Neil Williams 2006-02-06 13:29:43 UTC
When loading an old 1.8 file, I can find old invoices by searching for them explicitly but when trying to create a new invoice, several problems arise:

1. Multiple blank customers appear to be created.
2. None of the customer's old jobs appear.
3. None of the customer's old invoices appear.

Creating a new job and a new invoice works and the new job and new invoice can be found from the customer, but the old ones still do not appear.

With which SVN revision# did you import the data file from 1.8?
There were a LOT of issues in the business code until very recently.
Comment 2 Derek Atkins 2006-02-06 14:25:00 UTC
In particular, I wonder if this is a result of bug #328790? If you imported the data file prior to r13049 then that's it and this bug had already been fixed..
Comment 3 Neil Williams 2006-02-06 14:57:46 UTC
GnuCash 1.9.0 development version
Built 2006-02-05 from r13117

I am continuing to test - it is possible that the 1.8 file had been loaded (and saved) by a previous svn revision so I'll make a fresh copy of my current 1.8 file and retest.

Comment 4 Derek Atkins 2006-02-06 14:59:21 UTC
Okay. If it was loaded and saved prior to 13049 than that would have caused the data corruption.
Comment 5 Neil Williams 2006-02-06 15:10:12 UTC
Correct. A fresh copy of the 1.8 file, loaded in svn r13117 located all the customers, jobs and invoices with no blank entries. I'll erase the other (corrupted) copy. (The original is safely backed up elsewhere!)
Closing bug.
Comment 6 Derek Atkins 2006-02-06 15:14:52 UTC
Technically you should have closed it as a duplicate of bug #328790 instead of resolving it as FIXED. But no matter.
