GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 328490
strange issues when changing appointment from single to recurrance
Last modified: 2006-01-25 04:55:11 UTC
Please describe the problem: I created a meeting on my calendar and wanted to change it from a single shot to a recurrance meeting. Selected the meeting, clicked on the recurrance, told it to make it recur X times. This actually creates a new appointment in my calendar with the recurrance rather than modifying the old one. No biggie, just delete the old one - nope, it deletes the new recurring one. May be related to severe difficulties I have in modifying recurring appointments and adding in exceptions (i.e. it doesn't work and usually kills that appointment). Steps to reproduce: 1. create one shot appointment 2. modify to recurring appointment 3. try to delete original one shot Actual results: A new appointment is created and the original one shot still appears. Deleting the one shot deletes the recurring appointment. Expected results: the one shot appointment would be changed to a recurring appointment. Step 3 above would be unnescessary because there wouldn't be an extra appointment on my calendar. Does this happen every time? No, it's very erratic. Other information: Actually, now I notice when I restarted evolution, both sets of appointments are gone but the modification works. Frustrating.
Created attachment 58049 [details] animated gif showing problem Here's an animated gif from byzanz showing the problem. Look at the 2pm appointment for Wednesday, January 25 - Meet with Kathleen. I click on the appointment, go to the recurrance tab, and tell it to recur one time a week for the next 18 weeks. Sounds good so far. Return to the main week view, I've got double appointments. Right click on the old one that is non-recurring tell it to delete, and it deletes the recurring one.
Patrick: Thanks for reporting bug. Recurrence had issues like this in 2.4.x, it will be fixed for evolution 2.6. This bug is duplicate of *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 313112 ***
