Description Jeffrey Baker 2006-01-16 19:18:51 UTC
Please describe the problem:
Evolution 2.5.4, but problem has existed since 2.4.x. In my Courier IMAP INBOX,
I have over 13000 messages. I can see them all with Mutt. But in Evolution I
see only 4062 messages.

Steps to reproduce:
No idea how to reproduce. Have tried blowing away gconf, .evolution, etc.
Always same result.

Actual results:
Not all messages seen in INBOX

Expected results:
All messages seen!

Does this happen every time?
Yes

Screenshot

This screenshot shows that Evolution is of two minds regarding the size of my INBOX. To head off the usual questions, yes I have expunged the mailbox, yes I have tried to "Show hidden messages".

Eyes cannot deceive. So i guess this is an issue, alrigh. Not sure what the problem is though. Does this happen with all the folders?? or just the INBOX?
Comment 3 Jeffrey Baker 2006-02-02 21:18:36 UTC
I don't have any other large IMAP folders, except for sent, which has 6946 messages. Evolution shows "6945 sent" at the top of the sidebar, and 6946 in the folder properties. So you might say there's something generally fishy.
Comment 4 André Klapper 2006-02-09 21:34:59 UTC
my guess: one value includes the deleted messages, the other value does not.
Comment 5 Jeffrey Baker 2006-02-09 21:39:43 UTC
I doubt it. My INBOX is regularly expunged.
Comment 6 Hiroyuki Ikezoe 2006-03-23 03:29:47 UTC
I guess the number of the top of the sidebar counts the number of junk mails.
Comment 7 Daniel Holbach 2006-12-22 19:54:09 UTC
Ubuntu bug about that: https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/evolution/+bug/28151
Comment 8 André Klapper 2012-06-26 12:05:01 UTC
Is this still an issue in a recent version (3.4.2, 3.2.3) or can this be closed as OBSOLETE?
