Description Patryk Zawadzki 2006-01-05 20:47:12 UTC
Please describe the problem:
It seems that Gnome VFS does not report file permissions correctly.

Nautilus just tells me that it was unable to determine the properties.

gedit falls back to opening all files as read-only which stops me from using
gedit for my work (I do most work on FTP servers).

Steps to reproduce:
1. connect to an FTP server using Nautilus
2. click any object and call the popup menu
3. select "properties" and switch to file permissions

Actual results:
Nautilus says it was unable to determine file properties.

Expected results:
Nautilus should show the same info as every other FTP client does (eg. UNIX
r/w/x flags).

Does this happen every time?
Yes
