GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 325632
Playlists are lost when upgrading from 0.9.2 to CVS
Last modified: 2006-01-03 22:42:28 UTC
Please describe the problem: After an upgrade from RB 0.9.2 to the current CVS version, all (non-automatic "static") playlists are empty. Steps to reproduce: 1. Upgrade Rhythmbox 2. Start Rhythmbox 3. Browse one of your playlists Actual results: see description Expected results: All playlists should be available Does this happen every time? Yes Other information: As far as I understand the RB code, when a file is updated (ctime), it's deleted and then re-imported. In my opinion this is fatal, because playlist entries and the rating are lost then. Only the metadata provided in the file should be re-read.
This is bug 319278. The bug always existed, but Rhythmbox's new behaviour of hiding tracks until they are checked to still exist has made it worse, and having to re-read all files to get Year metadata makes it almost certain to occur when upgrading from 0.9.2 to cvs. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 319278 ***
