Description André Klapper 2006-01-01 20:37:14 UTC
/ shortcut to focus quick search bar does not work at all here (german keyboard). i have to press "shift"+"7" do get "/".

assigning to srag according to
http://cvs.gnome.org/viewcvs/evolution/ui/evolution-mail-global.xml?r1=1.35&r2=1.36
Comment 1 Srinivasa Ragavan 2006-01-02 08:12:56 UTC
I donno why this happens since I'm using English. Andre, can you help me here? The key 'slash' refers to '/' in /usr/X11R6/include/X11/keysymdef.h, which will be taken by bonobo-ui.
Comment 2 Poornima 2006-01-02 10:50:07 UTC
Need inputs from Andre so moving to 'Needinfo'
Comment 3 André Klapper 2006-01-02 11:26:22 UTC
i guess it's because i have to use the shift key - i guess it's the same reason as when we discussed using # as access key for the preview pane. :-/

/usr/X11R6/include/X11/keysymdef.h says:
#define XK_slash               0x02f

reopening.
Comment 4 André Klapper 2006-01-12 14:13:47 UTC
according to srag on irc:
"the problem is 'slash' in bonobo xml files looks for key '/' not 'Shift 7' in german locale"
Comment 5 Karsten Bräckelmann 2006-01-14 00:43:29 UTC
Fuck. Then this is a bonobo xml bug. :(

Using "/" (as in the char) whatever keyoard atually is used works for Mozilla / Firefox.
Comment 6 André Klapper 2006-08-29 11:01:09 UTC
this is obsolete now with the new search ui in 2.7, tested all three mnemonics (yepp, this is not a shortcut, i know, but anyway, this is the way to access it now) and all of them work. closing as obsolete.
