GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 320677
Evince has weird selection that covers document
Last modified: 2005-12-25 20:39:29 UTC
Please describe the problem: I am using the following pdf http://www.ece.ucdavis.edu/courses/F05/EEC260/ps4.pdf If I click and drag inside of the document the selection is just randomly placed lines. If I then click outside of the program the entire document has an opaque selection over it and I can't see a thing. Steps to reproduce: 1. Open the specified pdf 2. click and drag as if you want to select the entire page 3. click outside the program Actual results: An opaque slection covers everything in the document Expected results: I'd expect a semitransparent selection. Does this happen every time? yes Other information: I am using evince shipped with ubuntu 5.10
Created attachment 54306 [details] Shows weird selection This picture shows how the selection looks weird. It has lines randomly scattered throughout the document. This is before I click outside the window.
Created attachment 54307 [details] Shows weird selection after clicking outside evince This picture shows how the selection turns opaque. This happens once I click outside of evince, say on the desktop. It stays like this until I click anywhere in the document, in an attempt to unselect.
Hi Jon, thanks for reporting this bug. That is known problem that should be fixed in popper 0.4.3 or in poppler/evince CVS. Feel free to reopen if it still exists. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 315272 ***
