Description Egmont Koblinger 2005-10-21 13:38:38 UTC
Version details: 2.12.1

Add either "Main Menu" or "Menu Bar" to gnome-panel. When highlighting the
"Places" or "Desktop" menu entry, they appear with black text instead of
white, when using certain Gtk themes including Gtk's default Raleigh,
LargePrint, as well as most likely a lot of 3rd party themes, at least with
Fedora's Bluecurve.

These two menu entries set their class to PanelPlaceMenuItem and
PanelDesktopMenuItem, and these themes are not yet prepared for them,
they miss lines similar to this one:
widget_class "*PanelPlaceMenuItem.*" style "whatever"

I don't know if there's any good reason for these two menu entries to introduce
their own classes. If there isn't, then I think they should use the standard
GtkMenuItem or something similar, for which all the theme files are prepared.
On the other hand, if there's a good reason for this decision, then at least
the themes shipped by Gtk/Gnome (e.g. Raleigh) should be prepared for this.

gtk patch

Just in case it is considered to be a bug in Gtk and not in Gnome-panel...
