Description Michael Meeks 2005-10-13 20:30:24 UTC
Start evolution 2.4.0 - wait till everything is quiet (mail-wise) - switch to
the addressbook [ *local* ] enter 'Martin' - 5 second wait to get any results.

Why is it -so- slow ? - it took 8 seconds previously [ hence the re-start to
repeat it ].

Subsequent queries are much faster; this data is AFAICS stored in a single
database to make querying fast ...
Comment 1 Sushma Rai 2005-10-14 04:40:14 UTC
How many contacts your address book is having?
Comment 2 Michael Meeks 2005-10-14 08:19:53 UTC
140 - ie. a trivial number; I can calculate PI to hundreds of thousands of
digits in this time. The size of the .db is 560k or so.
Comment 3 André Klapper 2005-10-14 14:49:51 UTC
adding perf keyword.

perhaps related to bug 271113.
i guess this one here also depends on bug 312690.

Michael can you test with this current version of evolution and also make sure that nothing is going on in the background. May be eds is busy doing something,
Comment 5 Michael Meeks 2006-06-14 12:18:17 UTC
So - this seems to work fine with my recent builds, and it's months since I reported it so no-doubt someone fixed it somehow ;-) [ the optimist speaks ]
