Description Andreas Kleinert 2005-10-12 08:25:16 UTC
Steps to reproduce:
1. start Dia
2. a DOS debug window is opened
3. close it

Stack trace:
Each time when Dia is started, this seems to be in some kind of "Debug mode".

Under Windows XP (all patches as of 12.10.05 applied) with AthlonXP 64
there is always a C:\ (DOS) Debug Window titled "Dia" being opened, which is
quite annoying. However, if you close it, the whole application is terminated.

This in fact is not a "crash" but I did not find any other category for the bug
report - in fact, if "stderr" is closed, this should not result in the
application being terminated!

The error message that is ALWAYS shown at each startup in this Window is as
follows (part after >>>):

>>> I/O warning : failed to load external entity "NULL"

Note, that the application can be used normal, as long as the window stays open.

Other errors, that do occur during usage of the program, also are printed there,
like warnings about invalid UTF-8 characters or problems when trying to import
Visio .vsd files (which are not supported, guess that's why ;-)

IMHO that debug mode should be switched OFF by default.
