Description Corey Woodworth 2005-10-06 10:17:56 UTC
1. Get a VST instrument.
2. Try to use it on linux
3. Cry and Repeat

It would be awesome if Gstreamer could natively handle VST plugins. This would
be a major step twoards audio production under Linux.

Probably using http://dssi.sourceforge.net/ or at least taking code from them. Note the combined works will not be free software because the steinberg VST SDK is not free software.

Nowadays this should use fst: http://www.joebutton.co.uk/fst/.
Comment 3 Sebastian Dröge (slomo) 2013-08-22 12:32:48 UTC
Is anybody planning to work on this? There's not much point in keeping feature requests open for decades if nobody is planning to work on it and the demand for the feature seems rather limited.

I'd love to have this, but won't have time for this. Lets close for now.
