Description Nir Dremer 2005-09-04 13:49:44 UTC
Please describe the problem:

When receiving meeting request from exchange the request is shown with incorrect
time request.

Example:
Sending Meeting request in outlook for 15:00 - 15:30 will result in evolution
showing a request to 16:00 - 16:30 (both in meeting request e-mail and calendar).
(I'm attaching meeting.ics of this example)

Information I Gathered:
1. Outlooks is sending the request in Israel (Jerusalem) timezone.
2. Viewing meeting.ics shows Harare/Pretoria timezone.
3. Evolution timezone is Jerusalem.

Both timezones are GMT+2 and in normal scenario the problem will not be shown
but Israel is now in Summer Clock, which means +1.

Is the meeting.ics is something evolution received or it might be processed
before showing it and by that causing the bug?

regardless of the full solution,
can there be a toggle to disable meeting requests timezone adjustments?
I believe that 99% of the cases (especially for usual company usage)

I'm using 2.3.8 but i encountered the problem also on 2.2 branch.

Does this happen every time?

Chen, can we look at this?
Comment 5 Patrick Ohly 2006-04-11 13:16:29 UTC
Looks exactly like #332911 too me. The problem is not specific
to the Connector, although it is more of a problem there because
all calendar entries from Outlook will have time zones that Evolution
does not understand.

Comment 6 Chenthill P 2006-04-20 08:30:42 UTC
The problem is evolution seems to ignore the daylight savings. Both israel, jerusalem and harare, pretoria have an offset of +2:00 w.r.t GMT. So outlook sends the jerusalem timezone in the ics file instead of harare, pretoria.

This is what i observerd while trying to reproduce it,
1) Created an appointment in outlook with timezone harare, pretoria.
When received in evolution the timezone was israel, jerusalem.
2) Created an appointment in outlook with timezone israel, jerusalem.
When received in evolution the timezone was israel, jerusalem.
