If I press Show Offline Contacts then the "contact is online" sound is played
for every contact which appears offline.   Toggling it off also plays the
"contact is offline" sounds for every contact which disppears.

Obviously this sounds silly and makes Gossip hang for a second.

Yea, I have been meaning to sort this out for a while.
Thanks for reporting it, this should remind me to get my shit together and fix it
