Description Andy Hanton 2005-08-19 14:36:55 UTC
Distribution/Version: Fedora Core 4

I was deleting some files and received the following error:
Error while deleting. "smb://andy@192...1-1.noarch.rpm" cannot be deleted
because you do not have permissions to modify its parent folder.

This is completely useless to me. I had no idea which file nautilus was
complaining about. I couldn't even open a folder to look for it because the
dialog is modal.

Since the location bar is hidden by default, I don't think showing the whole url
to the user is a very good idea. I think it should probably say <filename> in
<parent directory name> cannot be deleted because you do not have permissions to
modify its parent. It would be nice if the dialog had a button that opened the
directory in question and highlighted the file, but that would be an extra.
