GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 312507
Deleted places remain in sidebar
Last modified: 2005-11-13 13:57:38 UTC
Please describe the problem: Steps to reproduce: 1. add a folder to places 2. delete the folder : now the place is still ok and is un trash 3. empty trash Actual results: the place become invalide but is still in list (with special icon). And is impossible to remove because in filechoozer the place doesn't appears any more. Expected results: filechoozer doesn't display dead links so nautilus shoudn't... Or, at least, have un "remove" button ! Does this happen every time? yes Other information: a "add" button and DnD feature is also needed :-)
I can confirm this. Yes, there should be a correlation between the File Chooser bookmarks and the Nautilus places, and in that case inexisting Folders shouldn't be kept as bookmarks. There is a way to remove it, although not the most pretty one: In the Bookmarks menu, choose bookmarks, select the bookmark, and press delete. Perhaps a right-click option to delete is in order, but that is a totally different bug. Btw, DnD feature is being discussed in bug 43311.
Thanks for your input. Updating version to 2.12.
Patch available under: http://mail.gnome.org/archives/nautilus-list/2005-October/msg00057.html
Patch was committed, will be fixed in Nautilus 2.12.2.
The fact that Nautilus updates the bookmark location when moving a file to trash is filed as bug report 162787, btw.
Forgot to close this one.
