Description adh+ebb 2005-07-19 20:13:56 UTC
Package: Evolution
Priority: Minor
Version: 1.2.2
Synopsis: Label Renaming and VFolders
Bugzilla-Product: Evolution
Bugzilla-Component: UI

Description:
Description of Problem:

After renaming a label, then selecting "Create Virtual Folder From
Search", the "Label" criterion of the search rule dialog presents the
old label names. Selecting the renamed label anyway, the resulting
VFolder correctly filters emails labeled with that label, despite using
differing names. The VFolder's property dialog continues to present the
old name until Evolution is restarted, whereupon the new label name
appears correctly.

Steps to reproduce the problem:

1. Tools -> Settings -> Mail Preferences -> Colors, rename some label,
[OK]
2. from some email's context menu, Label -> that renamed label
3. Search -> Create Virtual Folder From Search, in criteria panel change
"Subject" to "Label"

Actual Results:

Third combo box, presenting labels by name, fails to reflect label name
change.

Expected Results:

Said combo box uses the name change.

How often does this happen?

Every time I repeat the listed steps.

quoting fejj's comment on bug 260518:
"the labels get initialised in whatever the locale was the first time
they were initialised."

so i guess this also has to do with the way/the moment the labels are loaded. :-/

are you able to verify this with a current version of evolution, like 2.2.x?
evo-1.2.2 is now about five years old, and *nobody* will care about that version
anymore... :-/

Comment 4 Omer Akram 2010-06-08 07:09:44 UTC
is this still an issue with evolution2.30?
Comment 5 Milan Crha 2012-05-31 10:22:55 UTC
This is fixed since 3.0/3.0, maybe earlier. I'm closing this as such.
