Steps to reproduce:
1. Create new file
2. File -> Save As -> {use any name on default DIR}
3. 


Stack trace:
No instructions for obtaining stack from Windows XP and no Dr. Watson dump 
being produced.

Also, if I try to save to a specific folder using the "browse by other folders" 
option, GIMP aborts with "file shape.c line 75 (pango_shape); assertion failed 
(glyphs->num_glyphs > 0)" while navigating into a directory (but not every 
directory).

This is handled in the FAQ at Jernej's site and it has been reported hundreds of
times already.
