Description tonyarnold 2005-06-17 05:12:39 UTC
Distribution: Unknown
Package: control-center
Severity: critical
Version: GNOME2.10.0 2.10.x
Gnome-Distributor: DarwinPorts
Synopsis: GNOME Keyboard Properties requires XKB extension, causing crash
Bugzilla-Product: control-center
Bugzilla-Component: keyboard
Bugzilla-Version: 2.10.x
BugBuddy-GnomeVersion: 2.0 (2.10.0)
Description:
Description of the crash:
Apple's X11 does not include the XKB extension, which GNOME seems to
require now. Starting gnome-settings-daemon crashes the daemon, as does
starting the gnome-keyboard-properties executable.

Steps to reproduce the crash:
1. Start GNOME.

Expected Results:
GNOME doesn't crash when XKB isn't present.

How often does this happen?
Every time.

Did you try latest gnome? It should be a bit more xmodmap-friendly.
