Description Akkana Peck 2005-06-06 19:55:42 UTC
In the Brushes dialog, click on New Brush. The Brush Editor dialog pops up. Now
dismiss it (by clicking on the windowmanager delete "X").

A new file, with a name like Untitled.vbr or Untitled#2.vbr, is created in
~/.gimp-2.3/brushes, even if you never clicked Save in the dialog or changed any
parameters.

GIMP shouldn't save a new brush unless you ask for it by clicking Save.
Comment 1 Michael Natterer 2005-08-08 00:51:49 UTC
The new brush is created upon clicking "New", not when closing the
brush editor. Also, the brush editor is a dockable, not a dialog
which would have to be confirmed.

(Actually, the button bar in the the brush editor is pretty much useless
and could be omitted).

Vote for closing as NOTABUG.

What about removing the button-bar from the brush editor then? Or at least
disable it by default.

Fixed in CVS:

2006-05-07 Michael Natterer <mitch@gimp.org>

	* app/widgets/gimpbrusheditor.c: hide the button bar, which is
useless for the brush editor. Fixes user confusion (bug #306704).
