In scientific mode, hitting "e^x"  and entering exponent 1  gives answer 14. 
Similarly, e^2 gives 196

I am surprized....

This is probably a duplicate of bug #172150, but I'll leave Sami to
confirm. Note this should only be a problem in "Use Arithmetic Precedence"
mode.
