Confirmed.

CVS HEAD has the same behaviour. Excel and OOo Calc behave the way you
expect.

I reproduced the problem by entering 1's in A2,A3 and A4, and =SUM(A2:A4) in A6.
I then marked row 2 and deleted it. This resulted in #REFERR#, like my colleague
saw.

I think this is in fact the same bug as 67634 (which we were going to fix after 1.0)
