Michael Schramel: Thanks for the bug report. Unfortunately, that stack trace is not very useful in determining the cause of the crash. Can you get us one with debugging symbols? Please see http://live.gnome.org/GettingTraces for more information on how to do so.
so i finally installed dev packages. Here is the trace: Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault. [Switching to Thread -1229452448 (LWP 15079)] 0xb7c70435 in e_cal_component_get_url () from /usr/lib/libecal-1.2.so.2 (gdb) thread apply all bt

The problem is caused by a task which has been created by using email -> right click -> convert to task. Then I tried to open the task in the task view and it crashed. Please let me know if additional infos are needed.
Created attachment 47098 [details] Faulty task file This is the faulty task file! Apparently there is a problem with the attachement encoded in the email which was used to create this task! This might be the bug!
Created attachment 47529 [details] Backtrace of the dump.
michael, can you pleas retest this with evolution 2.4? thanks in advance.
i assume that this is a duplicate of bug 332605 *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 332605 ***
