Description Raphaël Marinier 2005-05-06 11:28:27 UTC
Distribution: Debian 3.1
Package: nautilus
Severity: minor
Version: GNOME2.10.0 2.10.x
Gnome-Distributor: Ubuntu
Synopsis: Problem with folders which haven't the read permission
Bugzilla-Product: nautilus
Bugzilla-Component: general
Bugzilla-Version: 2.10.x
Description:
Description of Problem:
When clicking the right button of the mouse on a folder with no read
permission, the menu doesn't permit anything (for example we can't
change the current permission to allow reading), and the folder is
dissapearing in the file browser (and reappears when clicking on
reload).
And when one tries to open the folder, nautilus crashes.
However, this problem doesn't appear with files with no read
permission.

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. mkdir test
2. chmod -r test
3. Applications -> System tools -> file navigator
4. Right click or double click on the folder test

Actual Results:
Double click : crash
right click : folder is disapearing and the menu does't allow anything

Expected Results:
double click : a message telling nautilus can't read the folder
right click : allowing to change permission by the propertie menu

How often does this happen?
everytime
