GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 303122
mplayer man page wrongly converted
Last modified: 2009-09-22 01:48:06 UTC
Please describe the problem: The mplayer man page at least is not properly displayed in yelp; this is in ubuntu hoary (stable). I saw other bugs about yelp badly rendering/converting man pages, but i thought this one is more specific since i give a certain page, and may also be a different conversion bug than others. i'll attach a screenshot to show the problem. yelp indents sections while the real man page doesn't. Steps to reproduce: 1. 2. 3. Actual results: Expected results: Does this happen every time? Other information:
Created attachment 46055 [details] a screenshot of the problem. this screenshot shows yelp on the left, and the man page (correct) on the right. this is for the mplayer man page on ubuntu hoary. you can see that yelp has a wrong rendering on the man page, indenting cropdetect, rectangle, expand etc sections more and more while they are not indented at all in the original.
I can confirm this bug with 2.11.1. Marking as NEW and upping versions, and lowering severity since man page functionality is not enabled by default.
The problem here is that yelp can't handle the .de request (which mplayer.1) uses to redefine an .RS macro. Marking as dependent on 326058 since that fixes the major formatting issues with this man page.
It seems that resolution of #326058 fixed this problem. At least, the mplayer man page displays now correctly.
