GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 274405
show that mail sender is not in addressbook
Last modified: 2012-06-16 11:05:49 UTC
Distribution: Debian 3.1 Package: Evolution Priority: Wishlist Version: GNOME2.8.3 2.0.4 Gnome-Distributor: Debian Synopsis: "add to address book" link when sender is not already in it Bugzilla-Product: Evolution Bugzilla-Component: Mailer Bugzilla-Version: 2.0.4 Description: I'd like a feature that would warn me when I receive an email from someone who's not in my contact list. It could display a link such as "add to address book" whenever the sender is not already in it. It's already possible to right click on the email address and add the contact but I feel it would be useful to have evolution automatically remind us that the contact is not in the address book. Unknown reporter: fbeduneau@gmail.com, changed to bugbuddy-import@ximian.com. Setting qa contact to the default for this product. This bug either had no qa contact or an invalid one.
there's a plugin in evolution 2.2 to automatically add persons to addressbook if you reply to them and they aren't yet in your contacts.
adding keyword eplugin since this could be perhaps coded as a eplugin, dunno
plugins dont currently have access to the upper-part of the message rendering for the root message. although they probably should have ... so i will look at adding that capability.
reassigning old bugs to get rid of triage@ximian.com as assignee.
I'd like to see this feature. An icon with card and a + on top of it would be good to have in the message view next to the address. Beware of performance issue. I often receive mail from nasty people that prefer avoiding mailing lists in my school so the "To" field is about 500 mail addresses long.
