GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 272748
Events added to Exchange Calendar without Timezone info
Last modified: 2006-04-18 08:55:27 UTC
Description of Problem: I am in Mountain time zone (MST). When I receive an event from an outlook user in Pacific time (PST??) The event is added to my exchange calendar with no timezone and with the PST times. The result is that the event is shifted by one hour in my calendar. This problem gets a little worse. Since the event was added without a timezone the exchange server assumes GMT. So, when I look at my calendar on Outlook Web Access the time is skewed by much more. Example: My manager scheduled me for a 1 on 1 every fourth Thursday of the month from 3:00pm to 4:00pm. We are in the Mountain timezone. However, the invition came marked as 2:00pm to 3:00pm Pacific. When I accepted the event it showed up in Evolution as 2:00pm-3:00pm. To make matters worse, when I pulled up my calendar on Outlook Web Access the meeting showed up from 7:00am-8:00am. Expected Results: I would expect Evolution to enter the event with the timezone in the email invitation and display accordingly in the local timezone. How often does this happen? Everytime I receive an email invitation and add it to my exchange calendar. This does NOT happen if I add the event to my Personal (local) calendar. Additional Information: The work-around that I currently using is to open the event after accepting and manually set the timezone to the timezone in the email invitation.
This has been fixed in evolution-2.6.
