Description Samuel Irlapati 2004-11-15 18:21:51 UTC
Please fill in this template when reporting a bug, unless you know what you
are doing.
Description of Problem:
I have started using evolution to connect to microsoft exchange.
Sometimes when trying to read an exchange folder on the server, i get
the message "Error while opening folder exchange:// .....". I am using
evolution 2.0.2 with Fedora core 3.

I can read the folder again if i move the offending email from that
folder to a different folder on the server (using exchange's web
interface). I also have noticed that the offending emails just happen to
be from people whose last names begin with k, l, m or n! I know this
sounds strange but it is just an observation. Do any of you know what is
wrong? I really need help on this to be able to use Linux at work.

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Send me email at samuel.irlapati@unisys.com and i will have someone
whose emails cannot be read, send you an email to an exchange account. Then
you should be able to see how the bug. I can send my phone number too to a
private emal if nessecary.
2.
3.

Expected Results:

How often does this happen?
I have noticed this happening when people within the company whose last
names begin with K, L, M or N send me emails.

I got a debug file output for the error I am getting. I used the
following script file.

export CAMEL_DEBUG=all
export CAMEL_VERBOSE_DEBUG=1
export GROUPWISE_DEBUG=1
export E2K_DEBUG=5
/usr/bin/evolution --debug=evolution_debug.log

The error file is below.

I added two attachments today (Fri Dec 3, 2004) which are debug
outputs using E2K_DEBUG=5 and E2K_DEBUG=m. If you need any help
figuring out what is wrong, do not hesitate to ask.
Comment 5 mike 2004-12-16 17:10:01 UTC
I get this error when trying to open a folder containing any message
without Internet headers (messages sent on the same exchange server).
Comment 6 Brian 2005-01-25 21:56:34 UTC
I just started getting this same behavior today (which means something
must have changed on our Exchange server). If I try to open a folder
that has messages from accounts on our exchange server I get:
CamelException.setv(0x8194bb0, 2, 'Could not get new messages') in the
CAMEL_DEBUG=all output. This also happens whenever I receive a new
message that was sent internally (as opposed to being routed over the
Internet). I am not yet able to see the message headers to post
examples of one problem message versus another that works.

Comment 8 Sarfraaz Ahmed 2005-01-29 10:49:49 UTC
The http error 404 in attachment 44463 [details] suggests that server could not
find the object we were querying for. I dont think so much can be done
if thats the error in the other cases as well.
Comment 9 Samuel Irlapati 2005-01-31 19:57:18 UTC
This does not make sense that there is an http error. I am able to see
the email which causes connector to fail, in the web browser. Can you
please look further into what is the problem.
Comment 10 Sankar P 2006-04-22 06:49:55 UTC
Samuel: Does that mail contain % or TAB or any special character in its subject?
Comment 11 Poornima 2006-07-31 04:20:48 UTC
Samuel Irlapati: Is this bug still reproducible ? if yes can that mail be attached to bugzilla or mail it to sushma/sankar ?
Comment 12 André Klapper 2006-09-30 19:58:35 UTC
Closing this bug report as no further information has been provided. Samuel, please feel free to reopen this bug if you can provide the information Sankar and Poornima asked for.
Thanks!
