GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 262027
Bombarded with IMAP disconnection error pop-ups
Last modified: 2004-11-16 00:00:28 UTC
Distribution: Fedora Core release 2 (Tettnang) Package: Evolution Priority: Normal Version: GNOME2.6. 1.5.91 Gnome-Distributor: Red Hat, Inc Synopsis: Bombarded with IMAP disconnection error pop-ups Bugzilla-Product: Evolution Bugzilla-Component: UI Bugzilla-Version: 1.5.91 Description: Please describe your feature request: For whatever reasons, I frequently get disconnected (remotely) from my IMAP servers ( I use two separate ones). My router connection is constantly connected and shows a healthy and long uptime. I therefore think the disconnections are just timeouts and probably normal. The problem is that each time this happens (say once every 15 minutes), I get bombarded with a modal dialog informing me of the disconnection. These are really annoying. Given that disconnection is a fact of life on the largely stateless internet, can Evolution deal with these events more gracefully, e.g:- - either place these errors in the status bar (like Outlook does) - silently reconnect (once it is clear that the user wants to use the IMAP account in whatever way) Unknown reporter: russ@freesoft.co.uk, changed to bugbuddy-import@ximian.com.
