GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 261087
"Learning junk" in camel difficult to translate
Last modified: 2010-04-01 16:55:16 UTC
#: camel/camel-folder.c:1665 msgid "Learning junk" #: camel/camel-folder.c:1682 msgid "Learning non-junk" These messages probably need explanatory translator comments (see http://developer.gnome.org/doc/tutorials/gnome-i18n/developer.html#use-comments), explaining what these messages are all about. Also, perhaps they could need some rephrasing. Questions that arised in my head when trying to translate these messages where: "What can junk be learned?", "Are they teaching junk?", "What is non-junk and how can they be teached?", "Why are they teaching crap?". You get the point.
Rodrigo, any status on the addition of comments?
i'm not sure these messages ever end up getting shown anyway, or if they do they might not be shown for long enough to read them. maybe it should be 'training new junk mail' 'un-training junk mail' or something?
retargetting the string translation bugs that were targetted to 2.1 to 2.3. for an entire list see bug 236276.
still valid in 2.3.7, punting to 2.5 due to string freeze; adding "string" keyword; moving to e-d-s where camel now is
damn. eds doesn't have 2.5 target yet
futuring...
Bumping version to a stable release.
"Learning new spam message"/s and "Learning new ham message"/s ngettext-ed together with "Filtering new message"/s. Created commit 099e346 in eds master (2.31.1+)
