GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 257780
formatting message hang
Last modified: 2013-09-10 14:03:17 UTC
Please fill in this template when reporting a bug, unless you know what you are doing. Description of Problem: When I move something to Junk folder by pressing the Junk icon, it breaks mail previewing if the moved mail was being previewed. After that, I just can read emails by double-clicking in the email and opening it in a separeted window. Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Select an email 2. Click "move to Junk" Actual Results: Mail preview does not work after moving to Junk. Expected Results: It should preview the current selected mail without the need of opening it in a new window How often does this happen? Very often (most times at least, don't remember anytime that it didn't happen). Additional Information: I am running Gentoo Portage 2.0.50-r6 (default-x86-1.4, gcc-3.3.2, glibc-2.3.2-r9, kernel 2.4.25) I've got the ebuilds for building evolution from www.breakmygentoo.net
I don't understand the problem here. if I open a message in a new window, and then click "Mark As Junk" button in the toolbar, the mesage window advances to the next message. Same for the message-list/"preview" in the main window. this is what you want after all, isn't it?
Created attachment 43643 [details] snapshot of the problem
yes, Jeff, that's what we want. However, after I "junk" a message, its content is kept in the lower window (where the email appears with the text") and I can only read other emails by opening them in a new window. I am attaching a partial snapshot of the issue. I've blured some private things, but I think that you'll be able to understand the issue by the picture itself. It was taken after junking the message from osvald tull (SPAM, of course).
ok, except that's how it already works for me. what I don't udnerstand is why you have to open a new window to view the message. that's where you lose me. I don't have to do that to view the next message, it just previews fine. no need for me to open a new window.
I have to open it in a new window because it does not work for me in the same way it works for you for some reason. Seems like a "Formating message (...)" keeps showing in the information bar in the botton of the window.
ahhhh, okay. then I think this is a duplicate of another bug about "formatting message" that was submitted a few days ago as well.
