updating information about a contact complaints that a contact with same name exists (or email) and program crashes after hitting "add"
Last modified: 2003-07-18 19:11:47 UTC
Package: Evolution Priority: Critical Version: 1.4.3 Synopsis: updating information about a contact complaints that a contact with same name exists (or email) and program crashes after hitting "add" Bugzilla-Product: Evolution Bugzilla-Component: Contacts [was: Addressbook] BugBuddy-GnomeVersion: 2.0 (2.2.2) Description: Description of Problem: Modifying contact information from people in the same family (same last name) causes the program to complaint saying that the information conflicts with an existing one. it shows the supposed conflict and things don't match: --------------- LastName, FirstNameOne Email: FLastname@somewhere.com --------------- LastName, DifferentFirstName Email: DLastname@otherserver.com In other words, the two last names are the same and the first names are either similar or totally different. The emails are totally different also. Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Go to contacts 2. Open a contact with same last name as other contacts 3. Edit and save Actual Results: Evolution pops-up a dialog saying: "A conflicting record exists... yada yada... what do you want to do: Cancel and Add are the choices". Choosing "Add" crashes Evolution misserably. Expected Results: Supposed conflicts should be resolved or a new record should be created duplicating the last suspected conflicting record. How often does this happen? 100% of the time Additional Information: Debian Sid (unstable) Debugging Information: Backtrace was generated from '/usr/bin/evolution' (no debugging symbols found)...(no debugging symbols found)...
