GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 244430
Most Emacs keybindings don't work
Last modified: 2003-06-10 18:03:30 UTC
Description of Problem: Even though GtkHtml says it uses the XEmacs keybindings, most of them don't work in the mail composer. They work fine in BugBuddy though, so I take it's really an Evolution problem. Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. New mail 2. go to text area 3. Ctrl-F Actual Results: pops up Find dialog Expected Results: go forward one character How often does this happen? Always Additional Information: Some keybindings work, like Ctrl-N, Ctrl-P It's like the framework gets the key events first, and then passes them to the widget. If the key happens to be bound already (Ctrl-A, Ctrl-F, etc), it does not fall through to the GtkHtml widget.
this is a gtk bug afaik. however, redirecting to gtkhtml developers since technically you are complaining about the emacs keybindings not working there. mailer has 0 emacs keybindings.
