Description Joerg Sievers 2003-03-13 10:55:22 UTC
Description of Problem:
If you have used an mail/contact/...
manager/reader before you use shortcuts you have
learned before.

Actual Results:

Most functions, navigation is not acceptable for
working only with keyboard.

Expected Results:

A configurable list of shortcuts which can be used
for the most important operations inside the whole
application (see jEDIT or other open sourced apps)

How often does this happen?

Every time you work with evo.

Additional Information:

An important accessibiliy issue.

This is very unlikely to happen anytime soon, lacking the proper
infrastructure in GTK/Bonobo.
Comment 2 Joerg Sievers 2003-03-25 12:13:31 UTC
I think you misunderstood the wish: In Mozilla Mail, Outlook, PM Mail
and many many other eMail clients the SPACE bar is used for reading
mails easily with ONE KEY. No [} or whatever needed. It jumps to the
next paragraph, next mail and next folder. Ximian Evolution should do
that what also other clients are doing: Being easy!

*** Bug 326886 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
Comment 6 André Klapper 2006-01-15 19:34:06 UTC
removing "probabledup" keyword and adding "usability" keyword
Comment 7 Matthew Barnes 2009-10-26 14:48:02 UTC
Comment #3 describes the so-called "magic spacebar" feature we've had for a while. Comment #1 describes configurable keyboard shortcuts, which finally work now in 2.29. So closing this as OBSOLETE.
