Description keith 2003-03-02 03:49:32 UTC
Package: Evolution
Priority: Wishlist
Version: 1.0.8-10
Synopsis: Task-to-calendar drag-n-drop
Bugzilla-Product: Evolution
Bugzilla-Component: Tasks

Description:
Description of Problem:
Although i'm a BIG advocate of LINUX, one productivity boosting feature
that prevents me from leaving Outlook for Evolution is the ability to
highlight a segment on my calendar, and then proceed to drag and drop a
task item in the task pad on to the calendar. This allows me to
allocate time in my schedule for the task with nothing but mouse
operations. Currently, my only way in Evolution to allocate time to my
tasks is to select a calendar segment and then re-type the task.
Implement this feature and I very likely switch over to Evolution and
leave Outlook.

Steps to reproduce the problem:

still missing in evolution-1.4.6.0.200403120630-0.snap.ximian.8.1.
Comment 2 Gerardo Marin 2004-04-09 06:09:37 UTC
Current design (1.5+) makes pretty hard to even think of d&d among
components since they no longer share the tree.
Comment 3 Gerardo Marin 2004-04-13 16:00:32 UTC
Reopening this one as discussed in irc
Comment 4 Matthew Barnes 2008-03-11 00:29:33 UTC
Bumping version to a stable release.

Comment 6 André Klapper 2021-05-19 11:32:12 UTC
GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org.
As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org
which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately
quite limited so not every ticket can get handled).

If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent
and supported software version, then please follow
  https://wiki.gnome.org/Community/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines
and create a new enhancement request ticket at
  https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/evolution/-/issues/

Thank you for your understanding and your help.
