GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 238255
Format->Heading is a bad name for the paragraph mode
Last modified: 2008-04-16 11:58:13 UTC
Format->Heading is a bad name for the paragraph format menu in the editor control/composer. It should reflect what it does better.
still valid in evolution-2.3.5.1.0.200507140410-0.snap.novell.11.1, gtkhtml2-3.7.4.0.200507140410-0.snap.novell.11.1 hmm. string changes.
Created attachment 51237 [details] [review] gives a appropriate name
jai vikram: looking at your patch, it seems that your copy&paste was a bit broken... ;-) (e.g. "GNOME_GtkHTML_EdNOME_GtkHTML_Editor.xml.initor-emacs.xml.in") would be cool if oyu could fix it...
if you submit a second version, please set the first attachment status to "obsolete". thanks in advance...
The bug description says Format->Heading is a bad name for the paragraph format menu. Paragragh format is a different option and we invoke it using Format->Paragraph. Format->Heading shows the various headings as options. It looks fine to me.
at least adding string keyword :-)
"Heading" is not a proper name. REOPENing. Actually it is some kind of a "Paragraph Style"...
Valid in GtkHTML 3.8.2. Adjusting version.
Paragraph Style is a better option than Heading. But the functionality it offers is similar to that provided in Format->Paragraph. Removing the menuitem Paragraph or removing Alignment and Heading from Format should be done. (Refer bug# 245426)
Does it really take us a year and more to agree on which word to use? ;-)
The patch mangles ChangeLog. I would suggest using "Paragraph style" as someone already suggested as it will be consistent with "Format Paragraph" dialog.
Any further thoughts about this? This is the kind of stuff I'd like to get cleaned up in the new composer before releasing it in Evolution 2.24. I agree that "Format -> Paragraph Style" is a better term, but I would also want to change "Format -> Style" to "Format -> Font Style" to resolve any ambiguity.
sounds like a plan.
Matt, sounds fine to me.
Fixed in GtkHtml revision 8823. Had to switch around some of the mnemonics as a result, but I checked for dupes.
