Description Gregory Leblanc 2002-11-26 05:23:13 UTC
I've created a patch to Evolution which replaces the "Reply to All" button
on the toolbar with "Reply to List". I greatly prefer to the Reply to List
feature, since it encourages people to send replies to the group, without
unnecessarily copying the sender, and any people who have replied to the
thread along the way. Currently, this feature is "hidden" in a menu and
probably doesn't get used very often, as people either don't know about it,
or more likely, are too lazy to go find it in the menu, when the Reply to
All button is "right there" on the toolbar.

There are currently a couple of potential "issues" with this patch. The
first is that it simply re-uses the existing "Reply to All" icon. This can
make the menu items slightly harder to distinguish. It could really use
it's own icon. The second is that I haven't added an accelerator key. I'm
not sure, but it seems to be a policy that anything on the toolbar has an
accelerator, so one would need to be decided upon for this. I'd suggest
something with either "l" for list, or "g" for group.

I'd love to see the Reply (or the Reply-to-All) button become a
drop-down list in the style of New button to accomodate different
styles of reply, i.e. simple, to all, to list.
