I think gnome has some mechanism of registering and activating, so
if evolution has the next function , this bug will be fix.

File ---> open ---> calendar file, the evolution calendar will
present the calendar file.

Now, Evolution can open a default calendar file in
$HOME/evolution/local/Calendar/calendar.ics. I think we make the
calendar according to user's input. if we complete this function. we
can open a calendar file through double click a calendar file like in
windows.

Actually you can import it, but automation sounds good.
Comment 3 Luis Villa 2004-03-05 18:00:34 UTC
I'd like to tentatively nominate this for 2.1, or perhaps even sooner-
given rodney's new calendar thingy for webcal://, can't we also
trivially subscribe to or view file://foo.ics files? It's very odd to
get emailed a .ics file, open the email in evo, and have evo tell me I
don't have a viewer installed.

Bumping version to a stable release.
Comment 7 André Klapper 2012-01-26 20:06:22 UTC
On Fedora 16 / GNOME 3.2, doubleclicking on an ics file in GNOME's file manager (Nautilus) opens the "Evolution Import Assistent".
I think this is sufficient to close this as ALREADYFIXED.
